What are the Herschel Library Monitors Reading?

I am currently reading the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling for the first time as when my sister found out I had never read them, she immediately forced me to start. I have to admit that I am thoroughly enjoying them, although at times I wish I had read them when I was the same age as the characters. However, I have fallen in love with the fantastical storyline and find myself growing ever fonder of all the characters, even shedding a few rare tears following Dumbledore’s death. In conclusion, I have become a member of Dumbledore’s Army and am dreading the arrival of the final pages, for then I will have to face the harsh reality that unfortunately, Hogwarts does not exist.

When the movie “Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging” was first released in 2008, it was most definitely one of my favourite movies to watch. I recently came across it during one of my library duties, as our library here at Herschel Senior School is just so phenomenal that it even loans out movies.  I borrowed it for the weekend and just like the first trillion times that I have watched it, I absolutely loved it. As we all know, books are more detailed and interesting than movies. I’m almost finished with the first book in the series by Louise Rennison, entitled “Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging.” I prefer the book to the movie, as it is much more detailed and even more hilarious. I like that reading the book enables me to imagine what I want to. As you read the book, you get to experience Georgia Nicolson’s life along with her. You will learn many life lessons useful for teenage girls. As the novel proceeds, I feel as if I have slowly, but surely grown up a little bit along the way with Georgia. I can relate to Georgia’s life and learn from the mistakes that she makes. This is a teenage girl’s dream series, about friendship, boys, life as a teenage girl and simply having fun. I have already gotten the second book “It’s okay, I’m Wearing Really Big Knickers” issued in my name. I’m desperately looking forward to reading the other books in this amazingly hilarious ten novel series!
